Music This Weekend, Mar. 14-16

The toughest ticket in town to score this weekend will most likely be the Built To Spill, Meat Puppets and Helvetica (yes, they’re named for the font) show at Headliners tonight. Ear X-tacy is already sold out of tickets, and while Headliners has a link to buy tickets still on their site, they’ll be gone soon they’re already gone. Maybe they’ll have some at the door? $15, 8 pm doors.

For fans of metal, or at least a more-fashionable version thereof, there’s Pelican, Black Cobra, local faves Your Black Star and Unearthly Trance, also at Headliners tomorrow night. $10, 8 pm, tickets still available.

John Wiese

In Cincinnati on Saturday, Los Angeles-based noise wild man John Wiese plays, along with Columbus’ Mike Shiflet and someone called Neubla Girl (never heard her, dunno about that one) at the Art Damage Lodge. All ages, $5, 9 pm.

And on Monday in Lexington, Massachusetts psych collective something-or-other Sunburned Hand of the Man plays with Lexy’s own Warmer Milks and trumpeter Bill Nace (of Vampire Belt). This should be a good one. At the Artsplace Basement, all ages, $3 (cheap!), 8 pm.

Probably missed a few more, but that’s enough for one weekend, right?

UPDATE: Like we said, we knew we forgot some other shows, but still you should know that The Teeth, One Small Step, DIE and one more band TBA (as far as we know) is playing at Cahoots in Louisville tonight for $3.
